Discover different propagations methods for your garden, using correct equipment and growing environments. Learn about care of newly growing plants, the identification of different plants by botanical and Latin name and methods of propagating them. £10 material costs are included in the fee.
A keen interest in this field either for work, a change of career or for personal gain.
What you will learn
Students will learn about different plants & their botanical name (latin name), propagation methods for various plants, correct materials & equipment's for the task, growing environments and after care of newly growing plants.
How you will learn on this course
Students will have the opportunity to learn about propagation by seed sowing, cuttings (from roots, stems & leaves) and divisions. Practical activity, discussions, workshops, research, presentations and assessments will be key teaching and learning activities for this course.
How you will be assessed on this course
Demonstrate knowledge of:
1. Different propagation methods.
2. Using correct materials, equipment's and growing environments for the task.
3. Appropriate after care of newly growing plants.
4. Identifying different plants (botanical name/latin name) and methods of propagating them.

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and agree your personal learning goals.
All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agency.
All students on courses funded by the ESFA must complete a Learning Agreement and ILP.
