Tackle a variety of DIY jobs around the home including ceramic tiling, general carpentry, fitting doors, door handles and locks, skirting, architrave and laminate flooring. Advice and guidance is given on individual projects. £15 material costs are included in the fee.
Safety boots and protective clothing must be worn from the first lesson.

How you will be assessed on this course
There will be interactive teaching and learning activities shared with students by the tutor including demonstrations, use of technology, Word Clouds, glossary of terms, quizzes, reflective diaries, observation, discussions, direct questioning, self-assessment, working in pairs or groups, working together to develop and challenge what you have learnt, finding out what you can do well and what you could do to improve.

Tool kit: students need to bring basic tools like a tape measure, pencil, hammer, hand saw etc. but further information and an explanation will be included in the first session.

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and agree your personal learning goals. All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agency. All students on courses funded by the ESFA must complete a Learning Agreement and ILP.
