Course description

Create beautiful flowers using sugarcraft techniques to make your cakes truly gorgeous.

What you will learn

Basic techniques in sugar flower making, and making popular flowers such as roses, peonies, etc.

How you will learn on this course

Tutor demonstration & supervised practice, one to one, class discussion.

How you will be assessed on this course

1. Students will be able to use basic techniques in flower making. 2. Make a variety of popular sugar flowers. 3. Use several types of colouring. 4. Wire a simple arrangement of flowers for use on a celebration cake.

Not applicable.

Some practice is desirable.

Items such as modelling tools and some flower cutters will be needed. Tutor will advise at first session.

Additional information

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and agree your personal learning goals. All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agency. All students on courses funded by the ESFA must complete a Learning Agreement and ILP.
