Tone and sculpt your body, helping to define muscles in this challenging class. Adding resistance of your own body weight, bands or light dumbbells focusing on specific muscle groups. Tone target zones and blitz those arms, shoulders legs and bottom.
You will need a bottle of water and suitable clothing i.e. shorts or jogging bottoms and a t-shirt or sweatshirt (depending on the weather). A suitable pair of trainers and socks to be worn. A small towel is useful if you get quite hot. All students will need to complete a health declaration at the beginning of the course.
What you will learn
All students will have a good workout including stretches to prepare the body for exercising which helps to improve your fitness levels, tone and define muscles and improve your flexibility. The class will include learning and practicing low impact aerobic exercises to music together with toning for the upper and lower body followed by the cool down to lower the heart rate with stretches to help with muscle recovery. It will be fun and make help you to feel fitter.
How you will learn on this course
Tutor will talk through and demonstrate each exercise with students during the class. You will be taught in a safe environment by a qualified Level 2 instructor, who has experience of teaching the mature adult and has taught for many years to people of different levels from beginners to those that have exercised before.
How you will be assessed on this course
1. Demonstrate improved fitness and wellbeing i.e. warm up exercises, stretches and aerobic routines.
2. Demonstrate improved stamina – being able to go on for longer (adding on a different routine to make exercise last a bit longer)
3. Demonstrate better flexibility (being able to come away from the wall instead of holding onto it).
4. Display improved strength in the body
5. Have better breathing capacity
6. Feel less achy
7. Perform various steps and moves to music
8. Have rhythm and be able to identify the beat in the music
9. Improve co-ordination
10. Meet people and have fun!
Qualification and exam information (only for courses leading to a qualification)
What you will be expected to do outside your lesson time
Be more active generally in your day to day life i.e. walk instead of getting the bus. Maybe walk up the steps instead of getting a lift.
What you need for your course
Comfortable sportswear to be worn i.e. t-shirt, leggings and supportive footwear i.e. trainers, not shoes or pumps.

Towel, water, together with a pen to fill in forms etc.

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and agree your personal learning goals.
All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agency.
All students on courses funded by the ESFA must complete a Learning Agreement and ILP.
