A low impact, social class for mature adults wanting to improve general health and wellbeing by improving aerobic fitness, flexibility and muscle tone with simple routines, circuits, floor and chair based movements.
You will need a bottle of water and suitable clothing i.e. shorts or jogging bottoms and a t-shirt or sweatshirt (depending on the weather). A suitable pair of trainers and socks to be worn. A small towel is useful if you get quite hot.
What you will learn
All students will have a good workout which helps to improve your fitness levels, tone and define muscles and improve your flexibility. The class will be fun and make help you to feel fitter.
How you will learn on this course
You will be taught in a safe environment by a qualified Level 2 instructor, who has experience of teaching the mature adult and has taught for many years to people of different levels from beginners to those that have exercised before.
How you will be assessed on this course
There will be interactive teaching and learning activities shared with students by the tutor including demonstrations, use of technology, Word Clouds, quizzes, reflective diaries, observation, discussions, direct questioning, self-assessment, working in pairs or groups, working together to develop and challenge what you have learnt, finding out what you can do well and what you could do to improve.

What you will be expected to do outside your lesson time
Be more active generally in your day to day life i.e. walk instead of getting the bus. Maybe walk up the steps instead of getting a lift.

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and agree your personal learning goals. All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agency. All students on courses funded by the ESFA must complete a Learning Agreement and ILP.
