Course description

Whatever the weather, walk with our qualified fitness instructor, at your pace according to your needs. Experience a warm up, a pace walk, cool down and stretch to improve your health and wellbeing. Enjoy the company of others, meet new friends and stay for a fruit tea after.

The course will cover the importance of fitness and wellbeing, stamina, strength and flexibility for all ages.

There will be interactive teaching and learning activities shared with students by the tutor including demonstrations, use of technology, Word Clouds, quizzes, reflective diaries, observation, discussions, direct questioning, self-assessment, working in pairs or groups, working together to develop and challenge what you have learnt, finding out what you can do well and what you could do to improve.

What you need to bring to the first class

Pen, walking shoes i.e. trainers. Coat/hat gloves/scarf (dress for the weather).

What you can do next

Enrol on the next course or perhaps try other health and wellbeing courses like Ashtanga Yoga, Meditation and Relaxation, Pilates, Move to the Music and Exercise, Body Blitz and Body Tone, Line Dance and Zumba Fitness. Need to up skill in Maths, English and Digital Skills – look at our Level 1/2 Functional Skills, GCSE and Digital Skills course offer. We also offer courses and one to one training on iPads/tablets, iPhones and laptops.

Additional information

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and agree your personal learning goals. All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agency. All students on courses funded by the ESFA must complete a Learning Agreement and ILP.
