Course description

Experience all the positive elements of this taster Yoga session by practising postures, flowing movements, breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation.

Entry requirements

A sense of feeling well.

What you will learn

Warm up routines ( Flowing Strength ,Surya Namaskara( Sun salutation), ( Moon Salutation). Postures as ( Camel pose, Shoulder stand, Half crescent Moon, Dancer pose). Breathing and cleansing Breath ( pranayama). Meditation with Visualisation during the relaxation at the end of the class.

How you will learn on this course

Students will be encouraged to practise at home and to share anything they like or find challenging during their session. Any interest for Yoga reading will be on offer.

How you will be assessed on this course

 

There will be interactive teaching and learning activities shared with students by the tutor including demonstrations, use of technology, Word Clouds, quizzes, reflective diaries, observation, discussions, direct questioning, self-assessment, working in pairs or groups, working together to develop and challenge what you have learnt, finding out what you can do well and what you could do to improve.

What you need to bring to the first class

To be comfortable during your session make sure you haven’t eaten a meal at least two hours before. Bring plenty of water to drink. Wear comfortable sport clothes and take off jewellery that may cause discomfort during your practise. You can bring your own mat if you wish. A blanket will be lovely for the relaxation in order to keep your body warm.

What you can do next

You can try a different type of Yoga class or continue your Vinyasa class . Remember to check all the Tasters on offer in the beginning of each term as you can try any of your choice. Namaste

Additional information

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor may ask you to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and agree your personal learning goals. This paperwork is a requirement of the College’s Quality Improvement Programme.
