Course description

If you love singing but have never ventured outside of singing at home, join a group of like-minded people in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and learn posture, breathing, projection, harmony and ensemble work with the help of varied song choices. A fun and confidence building course.

If you love singing but have never ventured outside of singing at home, come and join a group of like-minded people in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and learn posture, breathing, projection, harmony and ensemble work with the help of varied song choices. A fun and confidence building course. Working up and down exercises - how the voice works. Learning various styles of music with the chance to perform it by the end of the course.

How you will be assessed on this course

1. Perform warm up exercises. 2. Perform a variety of songs. 3. Sing acapella. 4. Sing with a backing track. 5. Perform individually. 6. Perform as part of a group. 7. Learn words from song sheets. 8. Develop harmonies. 9. Identify range on scale. 10. Use timing/counting to come into song.

None, although learning harmonics and practicing at home always helps.

Dress comfortably, bring water and a folder.

Additional information

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and agree your personal learning goals. All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agency. All students on courses funded by the ESFA must complete a Learning Agreement and ILP.
