Develop your British Sign Language skills to enhance communication with Deaf people using a variety of activities resembling real life situations and experiences. Before enrolling on this course students must have successfully completed the Award in BSL Level 1 and Pre Level 2 course and be approved by tutor. Fees include exam costs of £165.

What the course will cover
Refresh your BSL Level 2 skills. Revise your signing skills and knowledge. Revision activities and learning at Level 2.
Teaching and learning activities
Group discussion activities; role play; pair work and group work.
What you will be able to do by the end of the course (Course objectives)
1. Take part in BSL discussions on a limited range of everyday topics. 2. Give your opinion. 3. Respond to the opinions of others.
Examination or qualification (if applicable) including costs. The course fee usually includes examination costs: registration with the exam board, certification and administration fees. If the fees are not included, the brochure will tell you this.
A College Certificate of Attendance is available on request.
Work expected outside lesson time (e.g. homework, assignments, etc.)
Although there won’t be any formal homework, students will be asked to read and research forthcoming topics.

Books, materials and equipment you need for the course (including additional costs, specialist stockists, etc.) Note: your tutor may recommend additional items during the course.
The tutor will give out hand-outs of any required text.

Additional information - General
At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete a Student Learning Record (SLR) and agree your personal learning goals. All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agency, who expect that learners who enrol on a course leading to a qualification will take that qualification at the College. All students on courses funded by the ESFA must complete a Learning Agreement and SLR.
