Course description

The 20 credit Special Educational Needs (SEND) Introductory Award is offered as a standalone qualification at Level 5. The aim is to focus entirely upon teaching learners with special needs. You will need an existing Level 3 qualification or attend mandatory pre course preparatory sessions for study at this level. A minimum of Level 2 English Functional Skills is required for entry on to the course.

Additional information

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor may ask you to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and agree your personal learning goals. This paperwork is a requirement of the College’s Quality Improvement Programme.
