Course description

Explore individual and team sports. Learn to warm up and cool down before and after exercise. Group competitions will be organised throughout the course to check progress and have fun in a safe environment. We may use the local park for some of our sessions. CL

Learners and carers should ensure that the Learner Support and Health Declaration form is completed and returned before the start of their class. What you will learn

The course includes relaxation and flexibility exercises, as well as cardio and endurances. All in a fun and safe environment. As part of a healthy living lifestyle, we will discuss eating healthily. We will also learn about health and safety for the various activities. The course will be tailored to the students' needs as well as their cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

How you will learn on this course

Each session is structured with a variety of games and sports We begin and end the session with stretches. Each activity is introduced through demonstration, questions and answers.

How you will be assessed on this course

Demonstrate Improved gross motor skills. 10.Demonstrate confidence in the use of equipment. 11 .Demonstrate increased vocabulary. 12 .Observe demonstration by tutor. 13 .Listen to tutor’s explanations. 14 .Gather appropriate equipment for sport activity. 15 .Gather appropriate equipment for game. 16.During ball game: say name of the person you will throw the ball to. 17.Participate in group discussion. 18.Help with tidying equipment. 19. Demonstrate confidence in the use of equipment. 20.Wear appropriate clothing and shoes. 21. Participate in team games. 22.Demonstrate space awareness during warm up. 23.Demonstrate space awareness while taking part in a match. 24.Demonstrate participatory behaviour in the class. 25.Help other students.

Additional information

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and agree your personal learning goals. All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agency. All students on courses funded by the ESFA must complete a Learning Agreement and ILP.
