In this course, we will explore various art techniques, using a range of different materials and subject matter.
Teaching and learning activities
This is a structured course building your knowledge and confidence through a series of achievable exercises in easy stages. Discussion and demonstration will be with the whole class and on an individual basis.
What you will be able to do by the end of the course (Course objectives)
1. 'Portraits of People' tonal drawing. 2. 'Self portrait' mixed media. 3. 'Expanded images' collage and drawing. 4. 'Fragment Picture' (group project). 5. 'Vincent Van Gogh' pastel pictures.
Examination or qualification (if applicable) including costs. The course fee usually includes examination costs: registration with the exam board, certification and administration fees. If the fees are not included, the brochure will tell you this.

What you need to bring to the first class
All materials will be provided but please bring an apron or old shirt to protect clothing from paint splashes.

Additional information - General
At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete a Student Learning Record (SLR) and agree your personal learning goals. All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agency. All students on courses funded by the ESFA must complete a Learning Agreement and SLR.
