Max. 1 child (7+) per adult. Parents/carers and children work together to make pots using simple hand building pottery techniques and a potter's wheel as well as decorating and glazing. PLEASE NOTE: The adult whose enrolment details we have MUST be the adult who attends with the child(ren) each and every session of the course.
What you will learn
Basic throwing techniques including centering the clay on the pottery wheel, coil pots, decorating and glazing techniques will be covered.
How you will learn on this course
There will be demonstrations and mini lectures on each aspect of the course. Discussion on a group and individual level will take place. Much of the teaching will be one to one.
How you will be assessed on this course
1.Produce a variety of artefacts. 2.Identify different clays and finishes. 3.Use decorating and glazing techniques. 4.Demonstrate an understanding of the workings of a pottery studio.

None expected but some research suggested for individual personal projects.

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and agree your personal learning goals. All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agency. All students on courses funded by the ESFA must complete a Learning Agreement and ILP.
