Course description

Max 2 children child (5+) per adult. Designed for families with young children who want to learn a second language in an informal and relaxed atmosphere, and have fun at the same time. PLEASE NOTE: The adult whose enrolment details we have MUST be the adult who attends with the child(ren) each and every session of the course.

What the course will cover

Basic greetings, numbers, colours, animals and pets, days of the week, months, food and drink, parts of the body and saying what you like/dislike.

Teaching and learning activities

With the aid of video games, songs and flash cards. There will be group work and parent and child interaction . In a small group, tutor-led, with opportunities for questions and hands-on practice.

What you will be able to do by the end of the course (Course objectives)

1. Greet each other. 2. Revise numbers 1-20. 3. Recognise and say the days of the week & months of the year and say when your birthday is. 4. Recognise and say the colours. 5. Recognise and say animals and pets and describe them briefly. 6. Recognise and say some food and drink and be able to place an order in a caf . 7. Recognise and say parts of the body. 8. Say what you enjoy doing (hobbies) and stating likes and dislikes. 9. Understand basic grammar (gender) and use some verbs (avoir, etre, aimer, vouloir).

Examination or qualification (if applicable) including costs. The course fee usually includes examination costs: registration with the exam board, certification and administration fees. If the fees are not included, the brochure will tell you this.

Additional information - General

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete a Student Learning Record (SLR) and agree your personal learning goals. All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agency. All students on courses funded by the ESFA must complete a Learning Agreement and SLR.
