We take student and staff safety very seriously and that’s why we’re following government guidance to introduce new measures to ensure our college sites are Covid Secure for all.
Therefore, we will:
Any student or staff member displaying Covid-19 symptoms will be asked to leave the college immediately and will not be able to return until they have self-isolated for the appropriate period or can evidence that are clear of the virus.
Courses, times, dates and course locations may be subject to change for us to keep students and staff safe and so we appreciate your patience and continued support as we welcome back both students and staff from September.
Therefore, we will:
- Ensure that we follow government guidance across our sites.
- Ensure that the way we operate and the measures we take are continually risk assessed to ensure we remain Covid Secure.
- Continue to manage the number of staff and students on site at any one time.
- Hold smaller teaching groups and combine our lessons with blended learning to minimise the number of people on site at any one time.
- Comply with the 2m social distancing rules by setting up our classrooms and other areas differently.
- Ensure that no large gatherings take place.
- Continually remind our students and staff to socially distance, maintain good hygiene practice and regularly use the hand sanitisers on site.

We offer a very student-centered curriculum to help students with learning difficulties, disabilities and autism to develop their skills to become increasingly independent and to flourish in life. There are also opportunities for some students to move into volunteering or supported employment. Our curriculum team works with our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO), teaching assistants, learning support assistants and liaise with our partners to give each of our supported learning students the best possible experience.

We offer a range of courses which can help you get into paid employment and into better paid employment. The Learning for Work programme offer also includes Higher Education courses. We can also link you directly with an adult careers advisor to support you with your job search through the National Careers Service.

Our health and wellbeing courses aim to provide a holistic approach to improving physical, social, intellectual and mental stability in order to live fuller and more positive lifestyles.
We offer a broad range of courses run during the day, evenings and Saturdays, including arts and crafts, fitness and dance, languages and mental health awareness, accommodating for those who either have a general interest in the subject or wish to pursue a new hobby, enterprise or career. |
Communication is vitally important to all our lives and effective communication is essential to avoid misinterpretation. Communication in all its forms brings people together.
Foreign Languages The benefits of learning another language are well documented, whether it is for travel and discovering new cultures, you will have better options for your future and increase your brain capacity and memory. In addition the College offers British Sign Language and NEW this year Signalong - a sign supported communication system used to support the communication and additional learning needs of pre-school children, school age students, young people and adults, who have special education needs and disabilities (SEND) and/or communication difficulties. |
