Bookbinding

The ancient art of bookbinding is steeped in history. It is a specialised trade that relies on basic operations of measuring, cutting, and glueing and combines skills from other trades such as paper and fabric crafts, leather work and graphic arts.

Our tutor Alan Smith during his long career as a Bookbinder has even made a book for the Pope. If you love books and want to make books or restore old books, this is the course for you.

Book Art

Book Art is the popular craft of combining both books and crafting to create 3D images or words from a book. It looks wonderful in your home or makes a great personalised gift for book-lovers. No cutting gluing or special equipment needed.

‘In creative arts and craft, the standard of learners’ work is high. Learners are proud of their achievements and enjoy sharing their achievements with their peers. Displays of arts and craft work showcase learners’ achievements well; learners enjoy their learning’
