​This course is suitable for those who have good, basic, sewing machine skills, would like to progress to using commercial patterns or want to improve your current clothesmaking skills. Discover how to alter a pattern to fit, confidently put in a zip, finally achieve the construction of a well fitting garment you can wear.

Creative Glass: Stained Glass

On this course you will learn how to design and create your own unique stained glass panels using the traditional lead came method. You will be guided in the use of specialist glass tools and materials, combining modern designs with centuries-old techniques of stained glass work.

Creative Glass: Fusing and Slumping

Learn how to make beautiful and unique pieces of fused and slumped glass in a creative and supportive environment. Beginners will learn the basic techniques of cutting glass, fusing and slumping; learning about the different types of fusing glass available and why compatibility is important; exploring the use of frits, stringers, and other fusing accessories in your designs. More advanced students will continue on projects to enhance existing skills for the first few weeks. We will then move on to further fusing techniques for all students.

Creative Glass: Untutored Glass Workshop

Join our Creative Glass Workshop to work on your stained glass or fused glass projects in a friendly and creative environment. You will have full access to all the glasswork equipment, slumping moulds, glass kilns, and fusing consumables such as kiln paper, fusing glue etc. 
 
There will be no formal demonstrations but individual support will be given on projects if needed.

This complete beginners course is perfect for beginners and improvers, for those who are interested in a career in floristry or as a hobby. This course will help you learn all the basic skills required. You will make a range of designs including gifts, wedding flowers and funeral tributes e.g. baskets, hand-tied bouquet, wreath, a front facing arrangement and a long and low design.

Jewellery Making

Create a range of stunning jewellery using fundamental techniques that will be taught throughout this course. Whether you are an absolute beginner or have minimal experience in making jewellery this course is for you. Learners will be shown how to use a wide range of different jewellery techniques, using various types of metals, materials, and wire. Why not enrol and learn new skills or develop on previous ones to create several finished pieces of jewellery.

Pattern Cutting

​Pattern Cutting is the technical skill of creating paper patterns for clothing designs, interpreting a 2D idea into a 3D shape. If you have clothesmaking skills and are familiar with commercial patterns, and would like to eventually create your own designs,this is a good introduction to the basics of flat pattern cutting techniques.

Sewing & Textiles

If you’d like to learn how to use the sewing machine or have basic skills and making clothes is a mystery, nothing fits, patterns are confusing and where do you even start with a zip?! Discover what pattern symbols mean, how to get the sizing right, how to lay and cut fabric and finally achieve constructing a simple, well fitting garment you can wear.
