NCFE CACHE Level 1 Award: Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care

This qualification is aimed at students who wish to explore roles in adult social care and to develop their basic knowledge of the adult social care sector. 
Unit 1: Introduction to the adult and social care sector
Unit 2: Introduction to the values and principles of adult social care
Unit 3: Awareness of the skills and attitudes needed to work in adult social care
Unit 4: Awareness of communication in adult social care
Unit 5: Awareness of the role and responsibilities of the adult social care worker.

Provides a flexible approach to study using a range of vocational units within Health and Social Care combined with optional employability and learning skills units. This qualification is suitable for use in a range of learning situations and lends itself to the development of individualised learning programmes.
The qualification provides learners with the opportunity to consolidate and extend their learning in preparation for higher level vocational learning, apprenticeships or employment within the sector.

NCFE Certificate in Understanding the Safe Handling of Medication in Health and Social Care​

This qualification aims to help learners develop a general understanding of different types of medication and their use. Knowledge of the procedures for obtaining, storing, administering and disposing of medication. An understanding of legislation and the audit process related to medication and issues of responsibility and accountability. An understanding of the record-keeping process for medication.

This is a knowledge-based qualification; achievement will not allow learners to be considered occupationally competent in the administration of medication.

NCFE Award in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children's and Young People's Settings Level 1

This qualification will develop the knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s sectors. They include the roles played by workers, from principles and values through to health and safety and working with others.

This qualification:
  • is aimed at learners who wish to develop an understanding of these settings before deciding whether working in the sector is for them
  • allows learners to gain the knowledge, understanding and skills required for employment and/or career progression in the sectors
  • allows learners to tailor their learning to their interests through the provision of a broad range of optional units
