The Learning and Enterprise College Bexley (LECB) has once again been rated as a ‘Good’ provider in its latest OFSTED inspection.
The inspection, that took place on 3 and 4 December 2024, highlighted the college’s inclusive and supportive environment’, that enables learners to ‘develop the confidence to succeed in their personal lives and work’.

LECB, based on Brampton Road, Bexleyheath, offers a diverse range of courses designed to meet the needs of its community. From functional skills and English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) to creative arts and vocational qualifications, the college provides opportunities for learners to build confidence, develop new skills and prepare for employment or further study. Ofsted highlighted the strong support offered to learners, including those with high needs and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

In their report, Ofsted praised the college for creating a safe and welcoming environment where learners feel valued and supported. Courses are carefully planned to ensure they align with local community and workplace needs and funding is available to support eligible learners in accessing these opportunities. This approach helps individuals gain the tools they need to succeed both personally and professionally.

Cllr Caroline Newton, Cabinet Member for Education said:
"LECB is a shining example of how education can transform lives. This fantastic result reflects the dedication of its staff and their passion for helping learners achieve their aspirations. The college’s impact extends far beyond the classroom, creating opportunities that make a difference to individuals, families and the wider community."

Jane Whitefield, Interim Principal of LECB said:

"We are delighted that Ofsted has recognised the positive impact we have on our learners and the wider community. This result is a testament to the hard work, commitment and passion of our team, who strive to create a supportive and enriching learning environment. Our focus remains on helping every learner achieve their best and take confident steps toward their future.''
The college’s efforts to provide high-quality education are underpinned by excellent facilities and resources at its Bexleyheath campus. Learners benefit from well-equipped classrooms, advanced sensory equipment and accessible technology that enable everyone to thrive in their studies.

With nearly 1,000 learners enrolled, LECB plays a pivotal role in supporting the borough’s adult education needs. From introductory courses to advanced vocational qualifications, the college empowers learners to achieve their goals, secure better job opportunities and improve their quality of life.
