From the crime scene to the court room, this class will look at the world of forensic science and forensic psychology. It will delve into the criminal mind looking at theories of offending, how criminal insanity is assessed, and false confessions. It will also look at how unknown victims are identified, DNA evidence, Locard’s principle and famous forensic cases.
Learn about the psychological links between writing, health and wellbeing. This course is a practical experiential course for people interested in introducing therapeutic writing to their lives and work. Where 'talking therapies' may sometimes feel too challenging, working with writing therapy is powerful, and can facilitate access to emotions and feelings that might not have been reached by other means. Using our own experiences, we will reflect on this process, and introduce some basic knowledge of writing therapy to support you and your clients through the process of self-discovery, creativity, healing and personal development.

Improve your communication and increase your self-awareness, learn about relationship-building and its connection to attachment theory. Find out about a range of creative strategies to support the children you work with, as well as carrying out the therapeutic process using a range of art techniques. The course will cover aspects of the art therapy process including: drawing, painting, use of dolls and other objects. You will also learn the theory behind art techniques.
Find out about how people's thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are influenced by the real, imagined, or implied presence of others. We will also cover obedience, conformity, crowd psychology and collective behaviour, Zimbardo’s prison experiment, Lewin’s change model, predjudice and discrimination.

We will also consider why some people 'support' these perpetrators through the evil of inaction (knowing but not challenging them).
