LECB GCSE Results Day
Learners at the Learning and Enterprise College Bexley picked up their GCSE results today (12 August).
Despite a difficult year and a half that saw courses going completely online, learners picked up a bumper batch of results.
More than 70% of pupils received grades 4-9 in GCSE maths and 85% received grades 4-9 in their English GCSE.
Principal Pippa Tiller said; “We had to make some pretty big changes to way we delivered our classes from last March. Our learners came with us on a journey and quickly adapted to virtual classes and 100% online learning.
By giving our learners the tools they needed to do that and the encouragement to finish their courses through to exams, we have been able to produce some impressive results. I congratulate everyone on their results and thank the staff for making it all possible.”
The college run a range of GCSE courses along with a range of ‘Learning for Work’, ‘Creative Industries’ and ‘Health and Wellbeing’ courses.
Adults who do not have a GCSE grade 4/C in either maths or English are entitled to study either of these at the LECB for free.
