We understand that paying for a course can be difficult for many of our learners, so we have made it as easy as possible to pay for them. We offer flexible payment plans and financial assistance to ensure that everyone has access to our courses regardless of their
financial situation. Our goal is to make education accessible to all.

If you are applying for funding/concessions, you need to complete the relevant eligibility forms and the provide supporting evidence each time you enrol. Evidence must be dated within the last three months of enrolment date.

The course fees you pay will depend on how the course is funded and on your:

• Age
• Employment status
• Household income and if you receive means tested benefits
• Residential status

16 – 19 Bursary

​For learners with an EHCP you may be able to get a discretionary bursary to help support your learning.

​Advanced Learner Loan

The Advanced Learner Loan aims to help take the financial stress away from study by allowing those aged 19+ to apply for a loan to cover the tuition fee on applicable Level 3 or higher course. A bursary is available for learners who have taken out an Advanced Learner Loan and are on a low income. Click here for more information.

​If you have an Advanced Learner Loan and are receiving benefits or are on a low income, you can apply to for financial help to cover course related costs - text books, materials, travel etc. Please contact the Grants, Welfare and Counselling Officer, Ros Shaw at [email protected] for more information.

​​ADVANCED LEARNER LOAN BURSARY FUND

Funding for Level 3+ courses for learners aged 19+ who have taken out an Advanced Learner Loan and are on a low income. The Bursary is not available to learners who have paid their own course fees. The bursary can help pay for things like:

• Additional course costs e.g. registration, insurance, etc
• Childcare with a registered Ofsted childcare provider
• Classroom assistance for a disability or learning difficulty – following assessment by our Learner Support Manager
• Course materials and equipment
• Travel related to your course

College Support Application (Funding for non-accredited courses)

The College Support Fund is available to help with tuition fees for those who can demonstrate financial hardship and that attendance on the course will improve their wellbeing. Applications are limited to a maximum of two courses in one academic year. A contribution of at least 50% of the total standard fee is expected from the learner.

An attendance rate of at least 90% is expected from learners receiving funding. Only learners aged 19+ years are eligible for College Support Fund.

​Free Courses

We offer a wide range of free courses. You may be entitled to a free course if you are:

• Unemployed and in receipt of an income-based benefit (for example JSA, ESA or Universal Credit)
• Employed or self-employed and earn less than £27,007.50 (London residents) or £25,000 (non-London residents)
• Aged 19-23 and studying for your first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification on an eligible legal entitlement course

If you are on a low wage you will be asked to provide evidence, such as a wage slip or a Universal Credit Statement within 3 months of your start date, or a current employment contract which states gross monthly/annual wages.

We understand that it may be hard to access a computer to keep up with your learning. To help, we have a laptop loan service. Please speak to our Learning Support team or your tutor for further information.

​Learner Support Fund

The Learner Support Fund assists learners who have financial difficulties while studying at the college. The fund is aimed at learners aged 19 or over, contributing towards course related expenses. These can include:

• Childcare with an Ofsted registered provider
• Materials and equipment
• Travel costs
• Trips

The Learner Support Fund is for low-paid learners who are equally likely to experience financial hardship as those who are unemployed.
