LECB provides study programmes for young adults aged 16 to 25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich and Kent. These programmes are designed to meet the needs of learners who present with moderate and mild special educational needs and disabilities.
In addition to the study programme, each learner will take part in an extensive tutorial programme and will have the opportunity to take part in enrichment and experiential activities. Our study programmes are planned and delivered in line with the learners’ education, health and care plans, and have two pathway:

The Study Programmes are :
Personal progression and Independence skills (Entry Level)
Our Entry Level 1 qualification in Personal Progress and independence skills allow learners to develop their skills in areas such as communications, reading and writing, mathematics, independent living, skills for the workplace and engaging with the world around them.
What you will study:
In addition, each learner will be provided with extensive tutorial and pastoral support as well as an enrichment programme.

- Independent living skills (including using the community, shopping, cooking and looking after your own home)
- Communication skills
- Personal development and adult relationships
- Travel training and road safety
- Recreation for a healthy lifestyle
- Functional skills - English, Maths and ICT
In addition, each learner will be provided with extensive tutorial and pastoral support as well as an enrichment programme.
Introduction to work / Workskills (Entry Level)
The course is designed for young people with SEND who wish to develop the necessary skills for independence and for future employment. The overall aim is to support each learner to maximise their potential, and to develop the practical and social skills required for the workplace.

- Exploring future employment opportunities

- Training to develop independent travel skills
- Continued development of learners’ English, Maths and ICT skills will be an integral aspect of the course

Employability skills (Entry Level)
The Employment Preparation programme is designed for learners who need to develop their skills for future employment.
Learners will develop functional skills in English, Maths and ICT by participating in a range of activities including creative projects and out of college social activities.

Supported internships (Level 1)
Our Supported Internship programme will commence in September 2023. This is a one-year programme designed to develop both practical and theoretical employment skills of learners with SEND to aid their progression into employment.
The course:

- Develops confidence and the essential employability skills needed for gaining and sustaining employment.
- Delivers work experience in a variety of settings.
- Develops functional skills for employment.
- Teaches and reinforces the work expectations required for employment.
- Encourages social interaction by working as a team member.
- Builds close links and employment opportunities with local businesses.
- Each learner will work towards individual learning targets set for the workplace.
- Each target will be reviewed and shared with both the learner and the employer to maximise success.
